Hey guys and girls, we’re back with another ‘Ask Me Anything’ episode. We are going to be answering your questions again. Keep them coming because this is one of our favourite ways to interact with you!

Here are the 5 questions that were asked this week:

  1. How to overcome my fears of everyday life, what happens if I’m in an earthquake? [1:03]

  2. How to stick to a decision, when your head says one thing and your heart wants something else? [13:23]

  3. What have been the most important life changing books Alex and Mimi have read? [20:37]

  4. How do you know if you’re lowering your standards? [27:24]

  5. Enough with the hard questions, which is best - Positano vs Mallorca? [34:29]

These are some super exciting questions that really got us thinking. Alex and Mimi discuss their thoughts and experiences around the questions you sent in. Let’s start!

How to overcome the fears of everyday life?

  • Mimi shares her fear for earthquakes and then during a family celebration one actually happens

  • You are never safe and at the same time you are always safe - shattering the comfort illusion

  • Alex shares how fears are an evolutionary design that has kept our species alive for thousands of years.

  • We are statistically safer being in an earthquake zone or in an airplane than going about our everyday life, like driving car.

  • Fears are common in all humans, fear of the dark, fear of the ocean, fear of snakes but we can’t let these fears rule our lives.

How to stick to a decision?

  • Heartbreak is never easy, the good news is IT WILL PASS!

  • Life makes sense when you’re looking backwards

  • You’ll be glad that all the past mistakes didn’t work out when you find the best thing

  • Just know that it was the best decision because something better is right around the corner

  • It’s human nature to be addicted to things

  • The push and pull of overwhelming emotions that keep you invested

  • When something good comes along - grab it!

The most important life changing books?

  • For Alex it is Linchpin by Seth Godin, Reading that book and taking action on what they learned at the start of their business journey meant that they are reaping the rewards from it today.

  • Mimi will always have a special place in her heart for the magic, the possibilities and the big dreams that Paulo Coelho inspired in her with his book The Alchemist. Plus they got to have dinner with him, which is one of her most cherished moments.

How do you know if you’re lowering your standards?

“Most people are starving for love and want to take energy from other people to fill that hunger” - Don Miguel Ruiz

  • Focusing on yourself and your standards is the most important thing.

  • What you bring to a relationship is what you get back in return.

  • Fill yourself up with self-love before you look to give your love away.

  • How can you be the person that others want to be around - what kind of person would you like to spend time with - be that

  • Stop asking what you can get out of a relationship.

  • Don’t look for your other half because you’re not half of a person.

Which is Best - Positano vs Mallorca?

  • A proposal in Positano, why is it a special place for Alex and Mimi

  • It’s way busier than it used to be, helpful tips to avoid the crowds

  • Mallorca has it all, bits for everyone.

  • Consult your budget

  • Walks, hikes, beaches, restaurants, sightseeing

  • Make sure to take curated advice from people you trust.
